Singer songwriter Phil Garton is definitely a guy from the Heartland! Born in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1940, his earliest childhood memories find him in a playpen in an orchard near Naches Heights, Washington where his folks, including aunts and uncles, were picking fruit. They had all travelled across the U.S. from Arkansas to try to make enough money to save their family farm near Kingston, Arkansas.

This was Phil’s humble beginning of a life rich with stories of family. Many of his songs are all about the beauty of the Mountains & stories of family & events.

Phil was the leading force behind the founding of “The Pendleton Underground Tours” project and was honored in 2024 with Pendleton’s “Man Of The Year” first citizen’s award.

Much of “Gartunie’s” music is laced with humor and satire as he pokes fun at the “New Girls” in “Just Want A Cowgirl” or takes a different look at identity theft through “Good Luck Me.”
